A group of Colombian producers start their banana company "Unibán" to sell their own fruit directly to the market.
The idea of creating a snack brand called Turbana was born, with the purpose of giving an added value to the fruit that was marketed through "Unibán" while supporting banana producers with an additional alternative to market their fruit.
Unibán, Turbana's parent company, builds its first snacks plant in Urabá to produce plantain chips. The factory created new jobs and provided an additional source of income for plantain farmers.
We launched Turbana with plantain chips in 6 available flavors: Natural, Sweet plantain, lime, chili, chili lime and garlic.
We have 4 international customers, 3 located in the United States and one in Europe. 37% of our sales were made in the domestic market.
We carried out the first production of cassava chips, these chips were incorporated to our portfolio and seek to conquer consumers with a unique and representative flavor of our country.
We launched two new plantain chip flavors of sweet chili and sweet plantain with salt.
Winners of the SOFI 2022 award in the Pretzels, Rice Cakes & Salty Snacks category in which they were recognized with their cassava chips as best product of the year.

Thanks toour business’s international vision, we have managed to have a presence in 19 countries around the world.
We export an average of 280 containers per year.
We process on average 32 tons of plantains per week.
